Farewell Party SRM Stickers

Friday, June 28, 2013

Here's a sneak peek at part of my project for the Farewell Party for the current design team at SRM Stickers. I've had just the best time on this team, I have to say it is a wonderful team to be on, Susan is incredibly kind and generous! Congrats to the lucky new DT!! Here's part of my project for the Farewell Party.

I used one of the Clear Small Purses from SRM Stickers (these are one of my favorite containers!) and embossed with a Anna Griffin embossing folder. Then I used some acrylic paints to pick out the details. On the tag I used Sticker Sentiments - Thank You and Sticker Stitches from SRM Stickers and some Core'dinations cardstock.

You'll have to pop on over to the SRM Stickers Blog to see my matching card along with the rest of the fabulous creations from my teammates! You'll still be seeing lots of creations on my blog using SRM Stickers, Susan gave us enough stickers to last a lifetime!! : )

CASE Study #147

Thursday, June 27, 2013

It's our final week at CASE Study with Lisa Spangler as our muse, it's been a very inspiring month! Check out Lisa's vibrant card this week.

The fabulous mix of colors caught my eye, with the simple layout and sentiment, so I CASEd these elements. Instead of a geometric design I went for softer flourishes using the new Fancy Flourishes by Nina B Designs for The Craft's Meow. I used five different Distress Markers (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door, Broken China and Peeled Paint) to color sections of the stamp before stamping.

I love the effect you get when you color stamps with Distress Markers, it's such a fun technique. The sentiment is from Chalkboard Birthday from The Craft's Meow.

Don't forget to check out the CASE Study blog and what my teammates have created for you this week! Thanks for dropping by today! : )

Core'dinations and Couture Creations Blog Hop

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Core'dinations are teaming up with Couture Creations all this week for a series of fun blog hops. SO there will be lots of inspiration from both design teams. For my first card I used cardstock from Core Essentials Brights and Neutrals from Core'dinations and Petal Pleasures embossing folder and Tatted Lace Doily Die from Couture Creations. I lightly sanded the surface to reveal the core.

I used just a section of the doily die creating a pretty border. Sentiment is from SRM Stickers, ribbon is from May Arts and bling is from Want2Scrap. For my second card I used cardstock from Core Essentials and Pastels from Core'dinations. I used Smooch embossing folder and Tatted Lace Doily Die from Couture Creations.

After embossing the cardstock I sanded it and inked the embossed surface with Memento Desert Sand. The sentiment is from SRM Stickers, ribbon is from May Arts and bling is from Want2Scrap. I really distressed the edges of my cardbase giving a linen look effect.

Ellen Sosnoski from the Core'dinations DT is also sharing creations today, so hop on over to her blog. Don't forget to visit the Core'dinations Blog and Couture Creations Blog, there are lots of prizes up for grabs!! I'll be back tomorrow with my CASE Study card. Thanks for dropping by!

Double embossing with Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock

Monday, June 24, 2013

I'm really busy working on lots of different projects right now but I thought I'd pop in with a couple of cards I made for Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock. I used a double embossing technique on both my cards today, meaning I embossed them with an embossing folder first, then rubbed the entire surface with VersaMark, heat embossed with clear embossing powder then sanded the embossed surface leaving just the recessed areas clear embossed, it's a fun technique!

Here I used cardstock from Core'dinations Vintage Collection and Core Essentials Neutrals. I used my Sand It Gadget to sand the surface and my Dust Buddy, these tools make the process a whole lot easier! That fab embossing folder is Sizzix Alterations Book Cover No.1.

The stamped sentiment is from Cherished by Nina B Designs for The Craft's Meow. It stamped beautifully on the white cardstock from Core'dinations, I'm just in love with the extra texture it adds! I inked the edges with my fav Distress Ink - Antique Linen! The pink ink is Memento Rose Bud. All the sweet flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. On to my second card...

I have to say I indulged in a few Anna Griffin embossing folders recently, the designs are just stunning, this one is called Aviary. I used the same technique again but I experimented a little with the heat embossing, overheating it, allowing it to burn slightly, so it actually darkens the recessed parts giving a stronger contrast.

That stunning green cardstock is from Core'dinations Vintage Collection and I also used some cardstock from the Tim Holtz and Ranger Adirondack Collection and some Core Essentials - Neutrals.

The stamped sentiment is from Sent With Love by Nina B Designs for The Craft's Meow. Thanks for stopping by today! I better get back to work, I've lots of Christmas projects to finish, yes I said Christmas!!

The Craft's Meow June Release Blog Hop

Friday, June 21, 2013

Welcome to The Craft's Meow June release blog hop! Four fabulous new sets are now available in The Craft's Meow store, they include - Beautiful Rose, Kindred Spirits, Sweet Memories and Fancy Flourishes (June free gift with $50 purchase). You should have arrived here from Angi's blog but if you got lost anywhere along the way just visit the TCM blog for the full list of participants. For my first card I used the new Kindred Spirits stamp set to stamp a bright and cheery background paper.

I used Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and Salty Ocean) to stamp the background. The sentiment is also from the new Kindred Spirit stamp set. The Pink Sorbet Twine is from SRM Stickers and the blue cardstock is from Core'dinations Brights collection. For my second card I used the new Fancy Flourishes stamp set.

I love all the little elements in this set, this was so much fun to stamp, I used Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Tumbled Glass) again and the sentiment is from the same set, colored with Tumbled Glass Distress Marker. The yellow cardstock is from Core'dinations Brights collection.

To add a little sparkle to the flourish I popped on some hot pick gems. Next up on the hop is the talented Deborah. Don't forget to leave a comment on each of the DT's blogs and on the TCM blog to be eligible to WIN all 4 new sets from the June release. The deadline to comment is 8:00pm PDT, Sunday June 23rd. Tomorrow is release day and all four fabulous new sets will be available in the store. Today the DT are looking at Fancy Flourishes, this set is the June FREE GIFT with $50 purchase.

I love the flourishes in this set, there are lots of little add on elements too. Here I stamped it using Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and added a few sequins.

There are two sentiments in this set, Thanks and Hello. The font is just perfect, nice to have a sentiment I can color in too, I don't think I have too many of those. The Caribbean Twine is from SRM Stickers.

Remember to leave a comment on The Craft's Meow Blog to be in with a chance of winning a stamp set, the deadline to comment is 8pm PDT. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team created. Thanks for dropping by, I'll be back tomorrow for the June release DT blog hop.

CASE Study #146

It's week three already at CASE Study with Lisa Spangler as our muse. I was in a much better mood when I made this card, it's funny how much my mood effects my cardmaking. A good mood equals relaxed free flow of inspiration and usually a better end result.

I was really inspired by the color combo, the subtle background stamping, the ribbon treatment and polka dots in Lisa's card. So I CASEd these elements. I switched up the layout a bit for my card.

The flower from Happiness Is stamp set from The Craft's Meow is still one of my all time favorites. It's such a pleasure to color. Here I used Distress Markers - Tumbled Glass and Broken China to color them leaving the tips white and dragging the color with a water brush for a watercolor effect. The background cardstock is from Core'dinations and is embossed with an Anna Griffin embossing folder.

The sentiment (something I'm definitely living by at the moment) is from Geometric Foundations from The Craft's Meow. I used the solid rose from Happiness Is to stamp the background using Mustard Seed Distress Ink. The lace border is from a retired Layers of Color stamp set.

I used two different types of ribbon and layered them up and just tied a knot instead of a bow for a change. The Marigold Twine is from SRM Stickers. Just in case you're wondering I used Silicone Glue to attach the paper flowers, I've been using it more now than foam pads/tape. I love the dimension it gives you and that you can adjust it more easily once you stick it down, yay for Silicone Glue! Don't forget to visit the CASE Study blog for some more inspiration. Thanks for dropping by today! : )

The Craft's Meow - June Release Previews Day 3

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Hi, I hope you're enjoying the previews. It's day 3 of The Craft's Meow June release previews and today we're having a look at Sweet Memories designed by Nina B Designs. Now this set has been specifically designed for Project Life but just to show you that you can use the gorgeous frames on a card, I thought I'd show you a card first. I used Beautiful Rose from day 1 preview on my card also.

I embossed the frame from Sweet Memories in white onto some Core'dinations cardstock and did the same with the roses from Beautiful Rose. I used some of the text stamps to stamp the background of the frame using white ink. The sentiment is from Beautiful Rose.

Here I stamped the frames from Sweet Memories onto patterned paper to use in Project Life. You've a whole selection of text stamps to add to your cards.

I added an extra line of color on the inside of the frame just using a ruler and a Distress Marker. I love the font Nina used in this set, it's just gorgeous!

Remember to leave a comment on The Craft's Meow Blog to be in with a chance of winning a stamp set, the deadline to comment is 8pm PDT. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team created. Thanks for dropping by, I'll be back tomorrow for day 4 of previews!

The Craft's Meow - June Release Previews Day 2

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Welcome to day 2 of The Craft's Meow June release previews. Today the DT are previewing another fabulous floral set - Kindred Spirits designed by Karen Baker. I love these sweet flowers, I think they're violets, maybe pansies, they're heaps of fun to stamp with anyway! They're step stamps and I love the detail it adds to the finished flowers.

I used chalk ink for the lavender part and I used Distress Markers to stamp the rest. I added some Tumbled Glass around the outside of the flowers and added some water with a brush for a soft watercolor effect.

There are 6 sentiments in this set and I really love the font Karen used. Remember to leave a comment on The Craft's Meow Blog to be in with a chance of winning a stamp set, the deadline to comment is 8pm PDT. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team created. Thanks for dropping by, I'll be back tomorrow for day 3 of previews!

The Craft's Meow - June Release Previews Day 1

Monday, June 17, 2013

Welcome to day 1 of The Craft's Meow June release previews. Today the DT are previewing the stamp set - Beautiful Rose by Nina B Designs. I really love this set, the roses are just gorgeous. The bee stamp is from the previously released Happiness Is stamp set and the flourish is a peek of another set.

I repeat stamped the roses three times and did a little fussy cutting. I really love to use Distress Markers to color stamps now, here I used Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw and Dried Marmalade for the roses and Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint for the foliage.

Along with the fabulous stem roses stamp there are three sentiment stamps, a large label stamp and circle label rose stamp in this set. The background I embossed using Anna Griffin embossing folders.

I used the larger label for my second card, again colored with Distress Markers, I stamped the label twice so I could cut out the beautiful rose and layer it up. I love the touch of dimension it adds.

I used another Anna Griffin embossing folder, some Core'dinations cardstock and created an ombre effect with some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. The pink satin ribbon is from Craft Fairy.

Remember to leave a comment on the TCM blog to be in with a chance of winning a stamp set, the deadline to leave a comment is 8pm PDT. Don't forget to visit The Craft's Meow Blog to see all the fabulous creations from the rest of the design team. I'll be back tomorrow for day 2 of previews!
