Autumn Blessings

Monday, September 30, 2013

Hi! Just sharing a card I had on The Craft's Meow blog the other day, in case you missed it! I used the recently released Autumn Borders and Speaking of Fall stamp sets from The Craft's Meow. To add some extra texture to my card I stamped directly onto some Core'dinations cardstock, here I used Vanilla Cream cardstock.

I love the linen look effect of the cardstock! Everything is colored with watercolors, which I love using because I can always mix the exact shade I'm looking for! The sentiment is a mix from both Autumn Borders and Speaking of Fall stamp sets from The Craft's Meow. The little tag from is Spellbinders Tags Trio die set. I also used some brown cardstock from the Tim Holtz Kraft-Core shattered collection from Core'dinations. To soften the look I inked all the edges with some Antique Linen Distress Ink.

That's all for now, have a great week. Thanks for dropping by today! : )

Trick or Treat

Friday, September 27, 2013

We're getting in the mood for Halloween on the Core'dinations blog today, here's the card I made using some cardstock from the Black Magic Collection. I love this stuff it really is like magic when you emboss it then sand that black surface to reveal that contrasting core! I bumped the color around the edges with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink.

The sticker embellishments are from Authentique Thrilling Collection and I just inked the edges with some Antique Linen Distress Ink. That little broom embellishment I've had in my stash for ages! I also added some Sticker Stitches from SRM Stickers, these are so handy because I usually just leave a neutral thread in my sewing machine, I'm too lazy to change it all the time, so the Sticker Stitches are perfect for me. Don't forget to pop by the Core'dinations blog for more details and inspiration.

Thanks for dropping by today, I'll have a card on The Craft's Meow blog tomorrow if you fancy a look! Enjoy the weekend! : )

CASE Study #159

Thursday, September 26, 2013

It's our final week at CASE Study with Kathy Racoosin as our muse, I've really enjoyed this month! Take a look at Kathy's beautiful inspiration card this week! It's stunning!

I really loved the fab color combo, distressing and v shaped pennant, so I CASEd these elements in my card.

I used lots of Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock, the embossed panel cardstock is from Core Essentials Brights and is embossed with one of my favorite Anna Griffin embossing folders - Wildflower Gate. The v shaped pennant is cut from some Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Nostalgic Collection and sanded with the Sand-It Gadget (I love Kraft-Core!). The sentiment is from Autumn Borders from The Craft's Meow.

The edges of the Kraft base I inked with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. That purple ribbon is from May Arts. This color combo has really grown on me and I'm not a huge fan of purple but I love how it looks with the turquoise and teal. I also added a couple of wooden buttons, they always go well with Kraft.

Don't forget to visit the rest of the CASE Study team for some more inspiration! That's all for now! : )

Graphic45 and Core'dinations

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Hi! Just sharing a couple of cards I made using some Graphic45 goodies I received from Core'dinations for a trade swap, I love that we get to work with a range of different companies products. I have to say Core'dinations is one of THE best DT's I've ever been on!! I really am grateful to be on the team! For my cards I used the Graphic45 French Country Collection, these papers are so stunning, they really make creating a card pretty easy!!

I also used the Core Signature Series Graphic45 and Core Essentials Neutrals from Core'dinations on my card. I stamped the sentiment from Potted Garden (The Craft's Meow) onto some Core Neutrals cardstock and inked the edges with Distress Ink to blend with the patterned paper. The black background I embossed using an Argyle embossing folder. I did a little fussy cutting with the patterned paper from Graphic45 to add some dimension.

For my second card I pretty much repeated everything I did on my first card using a different patterned paper from the Graphic45 French Country Collection. I love fussy cutting detailed images like this, especially when the papers are so rich and beautiful. The sentiment on this card is also from Potted Garden (The Craft's Meow).

I'll be back tomorrow with my CASE Study card, I hope you'll join me then! Thanks for popping by today!

The Craft's Meow September release blog hop

Saturday, September 21, 2013

Welcome to the September release blog hop with The Craft's Meow! All five new stamp sets (Autumn Borders, Speaking of Fall (free gift with $60 purchase), Chalkboard Faith, Rustic Greetings and Little Angels) are available for purchase in The Craft's Meow store. You should have arrived here from Angelica's blog but you can find the full list of blog participants on The Craft's Meow blog. On to my projects!

First up is a card using Little Angels and a sentiment from Chalkboard Faith. The little angels are perfect for paper-piecing, I used papers from Graphic45 Bohemian Bazaar and added some color with colored pencils.

I also decorated some glassine bags (from SRM Stickers) embossing them with an Anna Griffin embossing folder, adding a doily to the top and wrapping some seam binding and twine around them.

I included a little 'to' and 'from' stamp in the Little Angels stamp set that fits nicely in the banner so the little angel could be used as a Christmas gift tag!

I got carried away stamping angels so I ended up making a cute little Christmas banner of angels!! They're all holding something different.

You can get some really great effects paper-piecing the angels and it's lots of fun too! Isabelle loved the banner and wants it in her room for Christmas!

Next up on the hop is Deborah Nolan! Enjoy the rest of the hop. Don't forget you can WIN all five stamp sets (Autumn Borders, Speaking of Fall (free gift with $60 purchase), Chalkboard Faith, Rustic Greetings and Little Angels) from the September release by leaving a comment on all the blogs in the hop, you have until 8:00pm Pacific Monday 23rd September. Good luck and thanks for hopping with us! : )

The Craft's Meow September Release Previews - Day 4

Friday, September 20, 2013

Welcome to day 4 of the September release previews at The Craft's Meow! Five brand new stamp sets will be released on the 21st of September, that's tomorrow!! Today we're previewing my second stamp set for this release - Little Angels, a brand new stamp set illustrated by me!! It's a 4x6 inch stamp set. It's funny, I didn't think I had a cute set in me but these little angels wouldn't leave my head!

There are two different little angels in this stamp set, one has the option to hold a selection of hanging items and the other is holding a banner, there are a number of different sentiments that fit into the banner space. Here I paper-pieced the angel with some embossed Core'dinations Cardstock and colored some details with colored pencils. The background I stamped using a little star stamp from the set. For my second card I made a cut out card with a hanging angel.

Again, I paper-pieced the angel with some embossed Core'dinations Cardstock and colored with colored pencils. The holly stamps are also from the Little Angels stamp set and are very easy to fussy cut.

Don't forget to visit the rest of The Craft's Meow design team to see what they have to share today. Oh and there's a set of Little Angels up for grabs for one lucky winner, just leave a comment on The Craft's Meow blog by 8:00pm Pacific tonight, good luck!! I'll be back tomorrow for the release day blog hop! See you then! : )

Core'dinations Roses

Thursday, September 19, 2013

I'm up on the Core'dinations blog again today! This time with some handmade paper roses using Core'dination ColorCore Cardstock. Core'dinations cardstock is just perfect for making paper flowers, it's a really great weight and is easy to shape without any tearing.

I used Spellbinders Rose Creations dies to create the flower, it's a really great die for making lots of different flowers. The leaves I just cut freehand, scored down the middle and pinched vein lines with a tweezers. I used Spun Sugar cardstock from Tim Holtz and Ranger Distress Collection from Core'dinations for the flower and Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Nostalgic Collection for the leaves.

I stamped the sentiment (Cottage Garden from The Craft's Meow) onto a Core Tag from Core'dinations, I love these because they're really smooth, perfect for stamping on! I embossed the bottom of it using a border embossing folder by Anna Griffin, I think it was called Rosa. The Strawberry baker's twine is from SRM Stickers. I made another card using the same techniques but in different colors.

Yes, these flowers are large and would look great as a topper for a gift box or on a gift bag. The kraft cardstock is from the Core Signature Series Graphic45 from Core'dinations. And yes I did glue on all those little sequins on top of the Core Spotted Jillian Dot cardstock!

Drop by the Core'dinations blog if you want a full list of all the supplies I used on my cards today. I'll be back tomorrow for day 4 of previews at The Craft's Meow and you'll get to see my second stamp set being released this September! Thanks for dropping by today!

The Craft's Meow September Release Previews - Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the September release previews at The Craft's Meow! Five brand new stamp sets will be released on the 21st of September. Today we're previewing two new sets Rustic Greetings (designed by Angelica) and Chalkboard Faith (deigned by Nina B Designs). Both of these are 4x6 inch stamp sets and so much fun to stamp with.

The Rustic Greetings stamp set has elements to stamp your own plaid!! I'm not one for measuring so I eyeballed it! I like the overall effect! There's a great selection of sentiments to fit in the awesome banner stamp. Next up is Chalkboard Faith designed by my talented friend Nina Brackett, there are six fabulous sentiment stamps in this set, all with beautiful combinations of fonts.

I used some Core'dinations cardstock embossed with an Anna Griffin embossing folder and lightly sanded. I wanted to keep the focus on the sentiment, so I just added some soft inking around the edges. The bling is from Want2Scrap, also designed by Nina Brackett.

Don't forget to visit the rest of The Craft's Meow design team to see what creativity they have to share today. There's a set of Rustic Greetings and Chalkboard Faith up for grabs, just leave a comment on The Craft's Meow blog by 8:00pm Pacific tonight, good luck!! I'll be back tomorrow with another preview, it's another one of my stamp sets! See you then! : )

CASE Study #158

It's week three at CASE Study with Kathy Racoosin as our muse, take a look at her beautiful inspiration card this week! It's really fabulous!

So, I CASEd the shaped card, central panel and basic layout, even though I flipped it on it's side. I went for a more Autumnal color palette.

I used the new Autumn Borders stamp set from The Craft's Meow and colored it using watercolor paints. The sentiment sticker is from Express Yourself - Thanksgiving SRM Stickers and the Mandarin twine is also from SRM Stickers .

I used some Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock and some fab Anna Griffin embossing folders to add some texture. I love the magic of sanding the embossed surface to reveal the detail in the pattern.

I don't have any large dies to cut the shape of a full card so I just invert rounded the corners to create an interesting shape. Pretty easy to do! Don't forget to visit my CASE Study friends for some more inspiration!

Core'dinations cards

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

I've a couple of cards on the Core'dinations blog today. This first one uses my Potted Garden stamp set from The Craft's Meow. I love getting inky with Core'dinations ColorCore cardstock. I used some of my favorite Kraft-Core cardstock from the Tim Holtz Nostalgic Collection from Core'dinations and embossed with an Anna Griffin embossing folder (Poppy).

The sentiment from Potted Garden stamp set from The Craft's Meow I stamped onto a die-cut tag (Spellbinders Grommet tags). The flowers I colored using Distress Markers (Barn Door, Fired Brick, Crushed Olive, Tumbled Glass and Broken China) and everything is inked with Distress Inks (Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.) The pre-embossed cardstock is from the Core Impressions Jenni Bowlin Collection and Core Amour Sable Collection Rendezvous. Next up is a more masculine card using one of my favorite stamp sets from The Craft's Meow - Vintage Clocks.

For this card I used cardstock from Core Impressions My Mind's Eye, Core Impressions Graphic45 and Core Essentials Neutrals sanded using the Sand-It Gadget, all from Core'dinations.

I stamped the Vintage Clocks from The Craft's Meow, did some fussy cutting and inked with Distress Inks Antique Linen and Scattered Straw. I love the texture the Core'dinations cardstock adds to the card. Ok, that's all for now, I'll be back tomorrow with my CASE Study card and another preview from the September release at The Craft's Meow.
